Guilty as charged for me! I honestly wouldn't think pee from people would have that big an effect on a body of water the size of Walden, but apparently the science backs it up.

It doesn't help their cause that the bathrooms in the building next to the pond are sometimes closed when I get there to start swimming. Maybe they could put porta-potties back in the parking lot like they had when the visitor center was under construction.

Same here where I would typically get there early before the bathroom building was opened. I'm sure Thoreau himself took the occasional leak in the pond so I guess we're in good company.
