do you guys think 3 - 30min runs a week is equal to, better, or worse than a 30 min run and a few days later a 60 min run. Tempo run on short day, aerobic on longer day.

I agree with Justin, alternate the weeks. I like the frequency of the 1st plan better, but if you're going to be doing Oly's you'll need to get in those hour runs.
