I've got it set up like this, and using the shortest (50 mm) bolts, they end up protruding through the bottom of the base bar. Is there a shorter option, or am I screwing something up?

The bolts in the overmount setups are sized for use with the BTA mount. If you want to remove the mount (not recommended, but fine if you’re not using many/any spacers as you’ve indicated), and you aren’t using any 5mm spacer, you will need different sized bolts. So you’ll need 45mm M6 countersunk bolts for your particular setup. We don’t supply them, but they should be fairly easy to find online or locally.
