Felt Bayonet 4 and carbon extension clamping
Quote | Reply
Recently installed Tri Rig extensions on my Felt Bayonet 3 bars to get some extra length in the extensions. I am now having trouble with the extensions rotating as well as the pad clamps rotating on the extensions. I've gone well past the felt specified torque limits and it still rotates.
Any tips on how to stop this slippage?

Have you tried using carbon friction paste? Put in a nice layer around the extensions for both the extension and arm pad clamp.

If that still slips, wrap a single layer of electrical tape around be extension to fill any gaps. Then add carbon paste on top of that.

A shim may be you best option. A soda (or pop) can should do the trick.

For my Bayonet Alloy extensions I needed the shims in order for the aerobar extensions to not rotate (no matter how hard I clamped them in they would move). Added the aluminum shim (courtesy of a La Croix can) and now it is firmly in place. It was a bit of a pain to get the shim in there properly though.
