I went last year, if you find yourself inland towards San Ignacio make sure you go on the cave tour (not the tubing one). Unless you have a fear of small places. It's a great country.

What about running and swimming there? Plus what else would you recommend?

I ran on Caye Caulker a few times, but it's small so you have to do laps or get creative. Ocean swims are easy and it's flat but I would have someone next to you on a board since boats are all over. When you're inland you're gonna have an easy time running on roads.

We went scuba diving on Caye Caulker and then went inland to San Ignacio, got on a cave tour with Carlos the Caveman and also did a trip to Guatemala to see the ruins for a day. But beyond that, eat, eat a lot. The food is great!
