Title says it all. Dog is experiencing niggles while running after completing ST 100 runs in 100 days. What has worked for your mutt?

My two Goldens (5.5 yrs old brothers, 69 and 64 lbs) will limp a bit after several long (2-ish hrs running off-leash) days in a row so i just give them a day or 2 easy (1-ish hr off-leash) and they are fine again. I just do long walks with the boys to keep an eye on them, then do my own workouts separately. Just saying as didn't want you to think i was running 2 hr per day 4-5 days in a row, which would def wear me out too much. :)

Eric, I would suggest looking at the Barry P plan for your dogs. Their medium length runs should be at most 1 hour if they are doing a 2 hour long run. It may sound counterintuitive, but you should run MORE days with them, but step back the LENGTH of the runs. A few sensible weeks of this and you should see their limping decrease.

I bought a Zero G treadmill specifically for my Boston terrier for that reason. But when she found out that Zwift has no canine avatars, she just refused to run on it anymore, so now I use it as a storage place for my extra Velotrons.

But has this been checked for WADA substances? We must be vigilant in anti-dog-doping (USADDA?)

As long as the meat is not sourced from Spain or China, rover should be fine.

Glucosamine chondroitan. I had a 12 year old mutt that was limping and slow to get up. I stared giving him glucosamine and within a week he stopped limping and was able to jump up immediately. Now I give it to both my labs.

Might have been a fluke, but it seemed to work for my old pup.

You can also gently massage the legs.

Would an ice bath work? Or just a swim in a cold lake?

Not sure Iid this thread is pink or not, but it’s a good idea to help our four legged friends recover and stay healthy.

No need for boots. Your dog's coach is probably an idiot.
