ITBS flare up hours after fitness test

Yesterday, I completed the Full Frontal test in the Sufferfest app. Was spent afterwards, but felt fine, in line with the intense effort and sprints. About 6 hours later, was sitting in a cafe on a flat wooden bench, and when I got up to leave, I started to experience some pain on the outside of my right knee. This intensified over the next several hours to a 9/10 on the pain scale- really bad. Today, pain is down to 3-4/10. I attribute this episode to previous issues I’ve had with ITBS in both legs, but is it odd to have flared up long after an intense effort? Did sitting on a flat wooden bench activate some trigger point? Lower body exercises & yoga are a regular part of my routine given a history of problems & injuries. Anyway, thinking of taking a full week off the Kickr.
