I've seen Cirque du Soleil a few times, and much of the time it looks like the performers are doing their thing without much in the way of safety if things should go wrong. Saw Cirque de Eloise last week, basically the same thing but just one set on a small stage with a musical element. Very entertaining but again, easy to see how if someone should slip, etc. you could easily see a death on stage.

We've been to half-a-dozen or so shows. I think part of the draw is the distinct lack of safety precautions for many of the elements. I read this is the second death in 5 years for them, not a bad record considering how long they've been around.
But man, I'd hate to explain something like this to my kids when they were really young and witness something like this.
