Today's tweak my fit on clip on aero bars
Quote | Reply
I saw the other posters post a few days ago about the road bike fit with clip ons, so figured I would toss mine out there for some help too.

I have not had a chance to get to a fitter for this season yet (soon), just trying to dial my set up in the best I can for now.

Please let me know any suggestions.

Learn the . You might need a saddle to facilitate rotation and maybe a seatpost to get you forward. After that you (we) can re-evaluate your relationship to the aerobars.

Definitely agree with the “forward saddle” requirement. Get a seat post that can be offset forwards. And a good saddle to suit! ISMs apart from allowing good pelvic rotation also have quite long rails that will enable you to slide the saddle a long way forward.

I was looking at the PR 2.0 to start with. Pissed I missed the 20% off eBay deal yesterday.

Any suggestions on a seat post?

Thanks FindinFreestyle for the video

This is what I got, from this seller:
https://rover.ebay.com/...2Fitm%2F302662509238

Fast shipping from uk to Aus for me

Seat post, something like a 3T Ionic like this can be offset forwards instead of backwards

https://rover.ebay.com/...2Fitm%2F302151908175

Once you get the saddle forward you can really dump the front end with a lower stem like a Cinelli Pista. My stem is -35 degrees...

Profile Design makes a front offset seatpost, but besides that I am not seeing any others. The one you linked seems to be a rear offset, to sit further back.

Is the front offset the only way I'll be able to get in a better aero position on this bike?

It’s an offset post, on a road bike you typically offset to the rear unless your name is Matt Hayman. But there’s nothing to stop you from turning it round and offsetting it forwards. The head design allows you to do this. Many posts don’t have the range of tilt angle possible to do this but that 3T design does. The Profile Design unit is good and gets you more offset, but it’s expensive

I’d say the offset post is a necessity to prevent closing up your hip angle, which would restrict your breathing and limit power and comfort.
