I can foresee ridiculously over amped action scenes. Think the remake of The Mechanic versus the original. Gunning down a few would-be muggers ain't gonna get 'er done for modern audiences. Instead there will probably be a gang, maybe Russian or white supremacists or one of those common multi cultural gangs, and everything will come to a head with a half hour finale featuring Bruce Willis taking out fifty evil doers.

Sounds like it could be good.

It's been a while since Bruce Willis starred in a film that did not go straight to DVD.

I watched Once Upon a Time in Venice a few nights ago. Not too bad if you like quirky comedies. It is almost as though someone saw John Wick--awesome movie BTW--and decided to make a comedy. It does feature Bruce Willis, or his stuntman, skateboarding naked through the streets of Venice, California, as he tries to escape two Fijians whose sister he just boinked. But, yeah, it was pretty much straight-to-DVD material. Even so, it was more enjoyable than Thor Ragnarok, which I watched the same night.

I enjoyed Once Upon a TIme in Venice. Reminded me a little bit of Hudson Hawk in its style. I enjoyed that as well. But, Acts of Violence was pretty bad.

It's directed by Eli Roth, visionary behind such great films such as Hostel (61%RT), Hostel 2 (43%), The Green Inferno (35%), and Knock Knock (35%) - three torture porns and a cannibal porn movie...

I have never stooped to watching more than a few seconds of either Hostel, but watched The Green Inferno and regretted it.

Well I'm sure it will suck. But Forge will love it.

Was about to post an almost identical comment, you saved me the trouble.

He did direct Cabin Fever, which is a great horror film. From that promising start he veered off into torture porn territory. More recently he seems to trying to make it as an actor. A Death Wish remake seems like a strange choice.

Bruce Willis may have hit that Nic Cage low where he will take any project.

If so, he'll love it. I remember the old Forge. A good movie had to have a corny plot with multiple chases, big explosions, lots of people being killed and get a thumbs down from the critics.
