Golf is a highly skilled game where physical fitness might help but is not necessary. Sports like baseball, curling, sailing, horse racing (other than the horse), car racing (other than the car), luge and bobsleigh (they sit down and let the sled do the work with a little steering).

If you only accept activities where the athlete alone exerts a lot of physical activity, you might have to change the entire Olympics, both summer and winter.

Curling got in

Gaming will be an Olympic event soon. Time to get over it. (notice lack of the word sport).

Long Chile was a silly place.

i don't like golf (or tennis) being there because winning the olympics just doesn't seem even close to being as important as a major or grand slam. the olympics shouldn't be a second tier thing to win. sports like mens soccer have the same issue but address it partially by limiting who can participate.

Because people watch golf and if people watch golf you can put tons of advertising and if you can put tons of advertising it brings tons of money.

Given that swimming is an Olympic event, bowling would actually give the Olympics credibility.

Bowling was a demonstration sport at the 1988 summer games and is being considered for the 2020 games.

Contract dispute prevents him from competing at Nathan's. He's still a competitive eater. He'd be a podium lock.

Not only a podium lock, but eventually the announcers will be saying "This competitive eater just pulled a 'Kobayashi'!".
