I love Brazos Bend State Park, and yes you are virtually guaranteed of seeing multiple gators there each visit. We took my son there this past winter and saw 2 up close. We'd go fishing there in high school, off of docks about 50 feet away from 5-8' gators just sitting there in the sun. Some big ones sat in one place so long the park rangers would put up fencing around them, so visitors didn't stumble upon them unseen.

I probably would not do an OWS in that water!

What is your thoughts on how competitive this race will be? Not including pros but for amateurs.. Being its at the end of most peoples season, pretty close to Kona as well. It also being the first year they are having it do you think it will draw some fast people? I feel like races like Oceanside and Saint George get some real strong guys, just wonder what every thinks about the field quality at a new race will be like.
