Included Knee angle
I’ve been using 138-144 for included angle for road fits and 138-146 for tri fits…lately I’ve noticed these numbers rising…I looked at a number of fitters (including F.I.S.T.) and see the range for both road & tri from 143-155, with the narrowist range 153-157…given that some of these use BDC at 6 o’clock and some 5:27, but pretty much use the same landmarks, I’m wondering what the consensus is?

Since I have taken the Slowtwitch course and using the protocols with our Purely Custom fit bike, most road set-ups have fallen in between 135 to 143 degrees. Tri fits a bit higher. I let the clients find their seat heights with the dynamic bike fitting. I back this up with Gebiomized pressure mapping and Dartfish video capture, good feedback and follow up, so...I am confident with this range.
