Does anyone know if they will be having that Olympic distance race in Lake Placid in June that they have had for the last two years? It was a World age group qualifier those years. I can't find any mention of it.
It would be a bummer if they moved it, though they had terrible weather each of the last two years.
Air temp in the 40's, water temp around 50. Snow storm the week before. I live close enough to drive up the day of the race, and I've never considered that race. It looks like a lot of others also chose to stay away. That race has had very small fields. It's also the same weekend as Blackwater/Eagleman, a way better alternative, although it's about eight hours away. I think it would be great if they move it to another time or location where we could race the race without worrying about freezing!
