Although it was only marketed as a frameset in Giant's component catalog, my understanding is the frameset on the bike in your auction became a limited edition due to the fact that ONCE changed their minds about the graphics for the team frame. As a result, Giant ended the production run after only about 500 or so framesets were completed of which several were used for structural testing and another 30-40 got allocated right off the production line for use by ONCE! My wife and I ordered ours at Interbike 2002 and did not see them until August of 2003 and while they were replaced this year by TCR Advanced framesets and are now being used primarily as training bikes (I use mine for criteriums), next year they will probably get turned into wall art ~mainly because my wife won't let me sell them (grin)!
