That channel rocks. NY marathon live.

P.diddy currently on 9:00 mile pace, aiming for sub 4:00 hours.

haha they also said there is a lead pack of around 25 people, mostly kenyans, and a pack of around 25 around p.diddy (made up of fans and bodyguards).

they also said if the pace won't pick up they are heading (men) for a 2:10 marathon.

i'll keep ya updated in a few mintues when they reach the half =o

They went thru the half way in 65:39

Sucks that my fav runner (the italian dude who took 2nd at the worlds) twisted his ankle at the water station around the 10k mark =\

he's running?

edit: nevermind, he's cool though. bekele (i think that's his name) also has a nice technique. i remember at the worlds, they were running next to each other, and their stride matched perfectly (length and speed wise; you only saw the outline of bekele's feet, as they were matching with geb's).

i just heard the last mile was run in 4:40

The live transmission rocks, you're right, but the british eurosport commentators suck... they failed to identify the eventual winner as the half-marathon world champion! And kept saying that last year's winner looked better and was the better runner... until he got a sidestitch and got dropped...

I agree. It was great watching the live feed from NY, (while my family in NJ could only see the 1hr NBC highlight show) but the commentators, were...Ill be nice and say sub-par. Some of their comments...sheesh. Where'd they find these guys?

well, the first year the Triathlon France Iron Tour was on TV, they had no triathlon specialists so they asked pierre fulla who is a gym specialist...

the first day was an individual TT over a sprint distance. The guy tried to interview Simon Lessing, during T1, being on Simon's way to his bike...
Fulla is like 5 foot tall...Lessing didn't even see him and just run through. Next thing we saw was Fulla on the ground! so bad commentators can lead to interesting situations!
