Any opinion on HED vs. Oval Concepts carbon one piece aerobars? Are there other bars that are similar and less money? Thanks---Jeff

They are the SAME bar. Different branding.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but John Cobb and Steve Hed developed them together?
No. there are not similar bars for less money. You pay for the best.

Actually the HED and Oval carbon bars are not the same. They Do look the same, but if you look closer, the design varies. The HEDS base bar angle forward, with short ends to hold on, the Ovals are more of a straight base abr that has a very slight (read very) drop to them with longer hand holds. The arm rests are a little different too. The HEDS are round and made of carbon, although I called HED and had them send me the aluminium ones, the Ovals have arm rests like vision techs

Good to know. I'm buying the Oval Concepts bars in a couple of weeks. :)
i just rode the ovals for the 1st time sunday, and they are very stiff, thats good for climbing but kinda un comfy . the pads are to thin, i'm retro fitting visiontech pads . the heds on the otherhand ive heard are really flexy, when climbing outta the saddle...
