Your homeowner's policy will not cover you if you crash your bike. Also some homeowner's companies expect you to schedule the bike on the policy for an additional fee. If you don't it's not covered.

Dave was really helpful. I just had a crash and filed a claim. I can't recommend Dave and Velo insurance any higher.
I have bike insurance.
I was recently taken out by a car that pulled across in front of me causing me to slam into the side of it. Net result: broken 4K bike and broken ribs.
The insurance is excellent - they hold your hand and take care of it all for you. Paid out for the bike and stuff and now their legal team is helping go after the driver for my inuries.
I will always have insurance.
