Menopause questions
So I thought I was in pre/menopause. I had 6 months of soaking sweats (until a month of maca root) (changing towels and shirts at least 1-2 times a night) and irregular periods (when I had been a non-hormone enhanced 28-dayer before) and then 6 months of amenorrhea. The last week the last of my menopause symptoms had resolved by upping the maca root to 1/2 tsp BID but yesterday I got a very slight bright red blood and now I have a VERY light "period". I know you're supposed to consult a doc if you have bleeding after 12 months of amenorrhea but any ideas here? Likely it is the maca root? i really should get a GYN exam at any rate, so when I've stopped bleeding I'll do that but has anyone had anything like this in their experience? FWIW, I'll be 53 in sept.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought real menopause was a full year of NO period, not irregular ones. I just past my first whole year of no period and the year before that I would have one every 3 months(light) then the last one last March was a blow out-then nothing. I am certainly no expert-call your MD if there is any concern at all.
I hear you on the sweats. I cut way back on carbs, dairy and sugar with really good results with night sweats.
Hope you get some answers.....

And might I add, as my GYN likes to tell me every year, although it's a PITA, the longer you have your periods, sketchy as they may be, the better for your health. She tells me she's got patients in their late 50's still going through the months of nothing, and then, it's lady's day at the ballpark again.

No coasting in running and no crying in baseball
