1988. Bud Light Hubbard Lake Triathlon in Hubbard Lake, Michigan. It was my first ever tri & amazingly had the honor of getting into a sprint with Ironman Hall of Fame amputee Jim McClaren. Super nice guy and said those kinds of battles were what he enjoys most about competition. I think I only nabbed him by like 2 seconds. I almost vomited it was such a furious sprint!
