I have a used 1x, HED 3D 700c, Shimano 8-10 speed, tubular disc for sale.

It is clean and true. I put on a red Tufo Pro Elite tubular ($85) tire w/Tufo tubular tape and used it at my local club time trial this past Sunday. So it probably has only a few feet of braking on the surface. It is essentially brand new.

I paid $700 plus shipping a month ago from an individual who paid $895 from RA Cycles in Brooklyn. The wheel was kept unused in a wheel bag for about 1.5 years.

I am selling it because although the wheel is the coolest disc i have ever used, I just don't get to race enough to warrant keeping it, plus I need the cash!!!

This is what John Cobb, Lance Armstrongs aero guru, said of the HED 3D disc:
"Our wind tunnel tests show the 3D Disc is way faster than flat discs. It is also faster than the Mavic, but not nearly so much - maybe eight percent, because the Mavic is also somewhat lens-shaped. The Mavic is pretty good anyway."

HED stopped making them, because they were too expensive to produce.

I bought it from a private party. He bought it from RA cycles in Brooklyn for $895 and sold it to me for $700.

The original purchaser kept the wheel in a wheel bag for the past 1.5 years.

Sorry... i dont have a scale at home. But i believe the disk is supposed to weight just a bit more than a normal HED3.

I had some time this afternoon and looked around on the net. Apparently, the weight for that disk is about 1240 grams. A bit on the heavy side, but if it's aero qualities are superior to the lighter disks, then I would think this would be a great buy for many bikes. Love the carbon and the LOOK of it. Very hot. I'm tempted even though I already have a disk. :)

I have a pretty nice FIR disk. About 1200 grams as well. I'm thinking about a disk for Lake Placid though with all those hills. Ugh. And I am not skinny, at least not yet.

HAH, I wish i could, my gf almost had my 'HED' when i told her about it(^.^) then i told her about the rotor cranks i was gonna buy and she cancelled the order... I was so pissed.

Haha!!

My fiancee said the same thing to me. When I showed her the disc she said, "..if that costs as much as I think it does, I'm gonna kill you..." She thought it was about $2k, but in any case i have to sell it.

I did get a great ride with it on Sunday though. One of the other riders on the TT course said it sounded like a freight train coming up behind him.
