How Crazy is this????
I need some rational advice from fellow triathletes.

I completed my first ironman in austria a month ago in 10:50 and was not too physically destroyed after it although, being an idiot, i managed to get sick for a week. My legs were fine and i was ready to go and train again but i got caught up in weddings and the closest i got to a run was the dash to the open bar. i swam a total of 3000 meters and biked 7-8 hours (mostly in mountains) and am

Contemplating doing the Embrun Man (considered by some, not all, the hardest ironman around). It includes 5000 meters of climbing including the col de l'Izoard (from this year's Tour) and some other mean hills, as well as two 1500 meter 5% hills in the marathon, record time 10 hours. All in all a tough race.

The question is thus very simple, am i crazy to attempt this knowing i have done so little in the 5 weeks since austria? ( my goal would be the finishers t-shirt and i would go into it with the "No need for speed" attitude.

Remember that my life is in your hands....

Thibaut

Oh and if anyone is doing the race and needs a place to stay let me know...

Think of it this way. Austria was just another training day for Embrun. Do it.

Pain is temporary, pride is forever.
