Glue on ZIPP tubular sidewall...solvent OK?
I mounted a new ZIPP tubulars on my ZIPP wheels and with the back one had the tire a bit twisted the very last bit. Now that put some glue (I used Conti glue) on the sidewall of the tire. ZIPP state on their site that it is fine to use solvent to remove glue from carbon rims but state to keep solvent from the tire itself. Do I need to worry about this or can I leave the glue as is?

BTW I'm on my second ZIPP tubular set now... they are seriously good tires!!

When mounting a tubular I always do use a solvent. Just as soon as i glue the tire and and air it up I begin to wipe of the excess with a rag, wet with solvent. I do not let the glue dry, by then it wil be to hard to remove. I've glued many Zipp tires and have not had a problem with wipeing the tire with a solvent soaked rag. The tires are great and do hold up.
