A question for you bright minds about recovering from a big week:-)
I did 25+ hr of trainging almost 2 weeks back peaking b4 the weekend:

Thurs: PM 130min Run
Fri:8hr Bike
Sat:60min Swim, 50min Run, 2hr Bike
Sun:60min Swim, 60 Min Run(Hill Session),210min Bike
TOTAL for 4 days:19hrs 30 min
(This came off a 20 week base between 9-18hrs a week.)

The next week I did the standard recovery week levels (8 hrs Training)
and felt like I was digging a deep hole for myself...felt real flat
on the weekend, so have been taking it easy since (massage/day off/zone1 swim).

I still feel quite tired physically, even though I havene't been training much, and it is over 10 days since the mega weekend, and I still feel dry/flat/not really firing.Normally it takes a tank to stop me getting out the door to train, and to be honest, i still feel a little tanked, but this is going on for too long IMO. I don't wanna lose what I have gained. I am thinking from today 60 mins a day up to Zn2.

How long is this gonna take? Isn't this a little excessive? I know I had a big week but comeon?!

Cheers

IMHO, on your recovery week you didn't do enough to trigger a supercompensation response to the previous training. 8/25=32% of the previous week volume! I would never go below 60-65%.

Also recovery weeks are not off or just easy weeks. You need to mantain intensity.

PS - I won't even comment on that 8hour ride...
