computer security

hey all,

if you go to
www.safer-networking.org
and click on the download (left part) there is a software called spybot (freeware or give as you wish)
that is self installed.

once installed, it searches for all sorts of craps on your machine that you have not put there, and will prevent these annoying pop ups...

(Dan, if this is inappr. for the Forum, feel free to get rid of this post)

Another good one is Ad Aware. It's freeware from www.lavasoftusa.com. It hunts down and gets rid of spyware, data miners, and other little programs that websites secretly place in your computer when you visit them. You want to get rid of these things because they monitor your computer usage and report it to whomever placed it on your machine. (I.e., the credit card numbers you use, your Social Security Number, websites visited, etc.)
