shoe recommendations for pronated/flat footed
Quote | Reply
I was hoping someone could give a good recommendation for a road shoe. The choice of cycling shoe for "nonstandard" feet seems to be sparse, or at least not readily evident. My foot is wide and I have almost no arch to my foot and pronate heavily. They make nice paddles when swimming. :) Are there any shoes out there that are cut a little wider, and maybe even support the ankle some?

Thanks in advance.

I have long, flat narrow feet. Sidi makes a good shoe (only one that fits me) and with a footbed or thin orthotic they are a dream.

For ankle support, I recommend a 1991 Air Jordan with the laces looped twice around the top. Sweet.

I have pronated / flat size 15 (50) feet. So I pretty much wear what ever I can find.

Try Sidi road shoes in the mega widths. For arch support/ankle alignment, change out the useless sidi insoles for the thin superfeet insoles. works like a charm for me, and I have flatter feet than anyone I know.
