I made a seatpost adapter about 8 years ago for my p2k, it put me about 7cm ahead of the BB. It consisted of a square aluminum piece (1" x 1" and 2" long) that had a cylinder extending down from one end to mate with the cervelo seatpost and a hole in the other end to accept the cervelo seatclamp cylinder. Wasn't too hard to make, cost was about $10.

EUREKA!! I think I get what you are saying, sorry for the low tech pen and paper drawing. Is that what you did more or less? If I'm on the right track I want to clarify one thing, if not I will pitch it in the trash.

Where I have 'cut out' would have to be machined to fit receive the mast head? The extension on the bottom would be formed by having a machine shop cut away the excess?

I think I have the design right, but not sure how to get the recess and the 'post' if it's all one piece. This sounds as if it started as a solid billet and the cylinder and recess whole were created as one?

Dude that is so funny I just stole the pic and emailed it to every tri-geek I know. The crazy thing is I will get responses like 'hey do you think it works', 'when can we try THAT'...

Since coming to the realization that tris for me are more fun than race my eventual goal is to:
  • Find a Penny Farthing for a somewhat decent price
  • Rig it with clip on aero-bars (which I have in waiting)
  • Find a race director that will allow me to ride it
  • Complete the tri in 1800s garb for no other reason than just because

Unfortunately step 1 has become my largest obstacle...

I don’t understand what Adamo saddles have to do with Seat tube angle. But when Jack chimes in I want to understand.

Yes, Dutch company Speedliner made 90 degree frames back in the early ‘90’s.

With QR frames you can set the seat clamp on the seatpost in a i3 degree position/ push the saddle further forward and you can ride it pretty steep. But at a certain point you loose reach and/or control.
