Wetsuit + double up on the swim caps...it'll be surprisingly chilly!

Just for a reference.....

The last 6 year average water temperatures taken on Oct 22 is 69.5 degrees. I'm betting the water, since it has not been sitting in the Arizona sunshine all summer, is gonna be a bit colder then that, especially by Nov.

Isn't the race somewhere closer to Nov 20th not Oct? If I recall last year it was closer to 59.5 than 69.5 on race day.

Yep, never said it was in Oct. In fact I stated that in Nov it would be colder then mentioned on Oct 22. It was the only reference to water temps I could find that might give people an idea what to expect temperature wise.

Washed up footy player turned Triathlete.

With rain projected Tuesday through Friday, I’m more concerned about water quality now.

I'm here for draft legal nats. Temp was 69 for today's practice swim.

71.6 is the ITU cut off. We should be ok.

A neoprene hat isn't necessary. IMO

It was 66 today by the time the D1/D2 girls started their race at NCAA nationals

I did a ocean swim today and it was 66 degree, it was actually nice after 5 minutes or so.

How was the water temp. I want it warm as palm Springs last year was too much.

It probably hasn't changed much since Saturday afternoon. It's not ridiculously warm/warm enough to make it go up to non-wetsuit legal

The water temp on Saturday (again) was 66F for the USA Triathlon races. The temps in Tempe are going to go down steadily this week, even into the 40's for lows at the end of the week (plus rain midweek - hasn't rained here in ages!); thus, I would predict the water temp to be in the low 60's come race day. Current forecast for race day is a high of 66F, low of 46F, very light winds ... perfect day for great races for everyone good luck to all!
