Weekly how'd you do (Oct 11)
I met my goals of 5 runs (did 6 - 39.3 miles), 3 swims (total of 5k so they weren't long swims, but the frequency was there), and one ride (55 min). Had 5 good days of eating and 2 bad ones. Hip exercises I did 3 times I think and I had made a goal of 5. I got 7 miles of walking in as well.

for this week - goals are 5-6 runs, 3 swims, 2 rides, 5x hip exercises, and 6 days of good nutrition (I'd say 7 but 6 would be an improvement over 5!)

last week's goal:
3 swims (met)
1 bike w/ strengthening sessions (did not do the bike, but did the strengthening, I did one pull-up! That has been my goal for the past 10 years! to at least just do one!)
3 mile run (did two sessions of them, finally!)

this week's goal:
4 swims (did one yesterday, 3 to go)
a 3 mile run (will do tomorrow morning)
may do a lesiure bike ride on sat. (not really a work out, it's getting cold and my bike seat appears to be a torture device)

One pull-up is one more than I can do right now, so congratulations! :)

Goals last week were:
Cycle commute more often than not + 1 Mtn bike ride - 6x commute, No mtn bike ride :( Spent the time watching Kona instead!!
Run x 4, but just itty bitty ones (like 1-3 miles) - 3, if you count racing friends through a corn maze in the dark. :)
Core x 4 - 3
Yoga x 1 - Yes

I'm finally feeling better running (woo-hoo, about time!).

Goals for this week:
Cycle commute more often than not + 1 Mtn bike ride
Run x5
Core x3
Yoga/Stretch x1

last week's goals:

- 1 swim before tattoo: DONE at my just re-opened, newly renovated, bright and beautiful favourite pool!
- 3 runs: DONE, including breaking in my new trail shoes!
- 2 rides (1 tri bike, 1 CX bike): mostly win. i did ride twice, but both were on my CX bike, and i probably shouldn't have done 2+ hours on saturday. was fun and kept it easy, though!
- 2 core workouts: mostly fail. i did one, but the second "workout" was just me doing a few exercises while standing at the kitchen counter chopping veggies for dinner!

this week's goals:

- do everything possible to stop the cold i have coming on in its tracks
- 2 short runs before the race on saturday (one done, need to do one more with some strides)
- 2 core workouts
- foam roll legs completely
- do not get hurt at 25k trail race on saturday!

cheers!

i try to run on trail at least once a week anyway, and have been doing most of my long runs on trails for the last month and a half when i can. easier on your joints and better for your soul!

cheers!

Concrete jungle or drive 30 minutes away.

concrete jungles typically have sidewalks. the 80-90% of my running that isn't on trails is done through town, either on the sidewalk or the road (where there is no sidewalk). even in snow, rain, -30c, you couldn't pay me enough to run on a dreadmill! i did it once (due to an ice storm), for a total of 5k, and wanted to slit my wrists after the first 3 minutes..

cheers!

Treadmill love here. Don't mind outside but I will very happily, very willingly run forever on the treadmill.

it might be different if the treadmill was at home rather than the rec centre, but i still think i'd go nuts trying to do 2hrs! i just can't lose myself on a 'mill like i can on the road or trail.

i think most people would agree that i'm enough of a character already ;)

cheers!
