Your LBS is right, the Syntace Space Control levers are not compatible with the Profile base bars. The Syntace levers need internal cable routing. Use the Syntace Stratos bar.

If you are talking about the Carbon X integrated bars, you are fine. I have this setup myself. If, however, you are talking about separate base bars and aero bars, then correct, you will have to replace the base bar if you want to use the Space Controls
