Bang for the Buck (another bloody wheel q)
I've got just over $400 to sink into a rear race wheel. As I can afford only one, I need to consider the wheel's versatility.

If you were in my shoes would you go for a Renn disc or more of a "traditional" wheel (eg, a Hed3 or Jet Deep)?

(If it matters, I roll on 650s and will be buying a tubular wheel.)

Thank you!

Holy sh*t! I hope you only do sprint distance. I couldn't imagine holding a wheelie for a five hour IM bike course. Good luck though. I'd maybe look at a mountain bike wheel.

rennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrennrenn, oaky my fingers are getting tired, I'd go with the renn. The HED deep's not a bad wheel, but it's less aero and costs more. The difference between the HED3 and the Renn would be less, but I don't think you can get one new for under $500-$600. Wish I had that much money to spend.

I would go with a HED 3 versus the Renn disc, for an all conditions wheel. The HED 3 is only slightly less aero than a disc and you can use it on all course.
