Where's Mr Tibbs? I want smoove conversation
Quote | Reply
Or do I? I don't know what it is and, I'll be honest, thinking about what it might be scares me a little, but in the name of making the Lavender Room a better place, I'm prepared to limit all other postings and only engage in smooveness. If that isn't breaking the law in some hitherto unforseen way.

Just lead the way with examples and I will follow...

Mr Tibbs doesn't seem to like you, but
lucky for you,
I've made it a personal mission to never let a topic go unreplied in this cursed room.

"The smoove subject for tomorrow is cars."

I'll offer one: Patrick McGoohan's Lotus Super VII from The Prisoner

Road and Track once called the VII a "four-wheeled motorcycle". Scary fast, agile, and looked like a space-age version of the Morgan.

Anybody ever drive one?

No. But you have EXCELLENT taste in automobles and television shows. The best 17 shows ever on television. :-)

While not as cool as a Lotus, I had to buy an F150 last week. The transfer case on my Land Cruiser (1987 227K miles) went out and the part were more than the thing was worth. There is nothing more souless in this world than a ford truck, but it was in the price range and my wife was tired of driving my sorry ass around.

"No. But you have EXCELLENT taste in automobles..."
- - Drove a '66 S2 Elan. Awesome. Not quite a Super VII, but a wicked handling car. The reason they only asked about number two in the show is because the Super VII is number ONE.

"...and television shows. The best 17 shows ever on television. :-) "
- - Saw all 17 episodes at least twice.

PBS used to have all the best stuff, like Are You Being Served, Python, Fawlty and of course Steambath. A great metaphysical work PLUS Valerie Perrine...
