Should the Democratic Party be Exclusively Atheist?

Please, please, please make it so. Sadly, the overall response was very negative, but some of the tidbits were truly hilarious.
But Jesus never dragged his religion out to complicate things.

I'm just trying to simplify things. I think we have some time to reduce unnecessary differences among us, so we can march into the future as one, without illogical complications like faith and things.

No, I'm sure the Romans crucified him for money laundering and car jacking. It surely couldn't have been anything to do with religion and politics. But I loved the insightful thinking in the follow up, and surely you wouldn't want to muck up a party with illogical complications like beliefs and crap. Sounds like they'd do better selling potato chips and deodorant instead of politics.

A few did have the brains to think in numerical terms
Reduce the Dem Party to about a 15th it's size?. . .
no
No no no a thousand times NO
Yeah, right, and exclusively Gay too... Then we could get a whopping 4%
But it would be a pretty damn solid 4%!!!

This is a choice one.
I thought we were against "church" and state

What can you say? The phrase from the junior high history lesson goes in one ear, a hunk falls off, and look what's left bouncing around in their little noggin.

Here's the rest of the DU thread on this discussion of metaphysics and eschatology, at least as it realates to THEIR "end of the Democratic World" theology:

I think that would clear a few things up around here.
It may be the only logical thing to do. Alert | Hide Thread | Nominate Topic for Homepage Printer Friendly |

Oh, they get overheated, alright :-) Some nights, when I go over there, my hair stands on end. And the way they talk to each other!

We're much more civilized, for the most part. Though I admire their passion. Can you imagine what would've went on here with the whole atheism thing?
