brazed front derailleur
I have a bike (brand to remaing nameless) that has the front derailleur bracket brazed to the seatube. The bike only has about 1500 miles on it and the braze on the bracket has cracked making the bike vitually useless.

Anyone have any ideas for a fix or experience fixing a similar problem?

Any good frame builder can replace it ,it will mean some paint will get burned off around that area.It might also be able to fix it without removing it from the frame,i would have to see it to know.Randall

If the frame only has 1500 miles on it, it should be under warranty. Certainly none of the big brands would give you a hassle with a bike that new.

I'm going to assume its a steel frame, rebrazing should not be a big problem. Of course you could file it smooth prime it and put a clamp-on derailleur in its place
