Do you pace a 500m or just blast it out the gate? How long do take to get up to speed? I reckon on an extra 5s for the first 250m compared to the flying 250m. Assuming you can do this, a 500m in 45.0s is a 31.6s opening lap and 13.3s for the half lap. A 45kph sustained speed, 333m track, avg 40kph. Or in other words, back to back flying 200m in 16.0s
And while I'm using the calculator, on the same principle:
2km in 3:00.0 is 34.0s opening lap and 29.0s for each lap thereafter. (41kph sustained speed 333m track, avg 40kph, flying 200m 17.5s)

Low 45 for the 500m? This is quite a good number to work with, since it happens to be the time I need for the opening 500m of a pursuit.
