I landed in Vegas this afternoon, met my runner and am now hanging out in a Best Western in Pahrump, NV. Prostitution is legal here, BTW. Very tacky town with pathetic casinos but the hotel really isn't bad.

I've made probably the last update to the blog for several days since about 20 minutes outside Pahrump I will be completely dark. No cell, no internet, nada. There is a short video of us saying hello. Yes, dorky.

I'll be back online Wednesday, hopefully, and will post an update to the blog then.

Hi ladies -

I'm back to civilization. Had a great time in Death Valley. My runner finished in 42 hours and I got a total of 6 hours of sleep in that time. I'll be working on my write-up over the next couple days. As a sneak preview, this picture was taken by one of the photographers who was taking photos all along the course. The set-up is that it is 5 am and my friend Maria and I'd both walked 10 miles each through the middle of the night, starting at 10 pm, to get her over on of the largest passes and across a desolate valley. We were delerious and didn't have a room reserved that we could access so we pulled over into a parking lot in one of the 3 towns in the 135 miles of the course. We were a little tired.

I'm just glad I was on the other side of the car from the camera. Maria is much better looking that I am :)
