I was at an open water swim near Bush (not that Bush) and the guy starting the race was standing on his sailboard with a bull horn. So he's barking orders and everyone's about ankle deep watching the start, my mind wandered and I looked down and a snake of some sort was cruising between the swimmers, no one jumped or budged (I guess they were intent on getting a good start). I decided not to look down anymore. On a positive note, gators tend to dine on snakes, so if there's no snakes then, well you get the picture.
