T1 and T2 with SPD-SL's (Lance Pedals)

I noticed on Shimano's website that the new cleat used with the SPD-SL's has some yellow rubber protectors. Will these things come off if you run on pavement during transitions in your bike shoes?

I don't think so, it looks like a one piece mold with alittle paint.

Why are you running in your cycling shoes through the transition anyway?

You should practice mounting/dismounting with your shoes attached to pedals. Much faster.

not to brag tooo much but I just did the first tri of the NC series and had the fastest t1 and t2 of anyone using the new dace peds.

email me off group if you would like any tips.

good luck

The reason I am running in my bike shoes during T1 is because I mainly do IM distance racing. Some of the IM races require you to place your shoes in your transition bag, rather than on the racked bike. Also, the last thing I want during a 112 mile bike is a rock in my shoe that I picked up as I ran bare foot to my bike.
