Charleyhorse...ouch!
I now know why we don't bike/run/swim. I ran 7 mi. last night around the Y track then went to do laps w/o stretching or anything. I got earaches for some reason, but they went away. Then WHAM my left calf seized up... I felt a golfball-sized knot under my skin for about a minute. I put a float between my thighs so immobalize my kick and kept going after putting ice on my leg for a couple of minutes.

Its still tender today. QUESTION: I have Ralph's in a few weeks, so I'm being paranoid, but should I baby my leg at all, or just do whatever my schedule normally called for?

I've had my calves cramp up in almost every Run/Bike/Swim event I've done, but I've never experienced long-term trouble. While I'm not a doctor, I will play one on the internet. Work some extra calf-stretching into your schedule and I'd bet you'll be fine at Ralph's. See you there!

(P.S. I can't imagine getting a cramp in a race...uck!)
