"New" 2004 Cannondale R1000 Triple Féminine 650 value question

I am looking to pick up a road bike for my wife who is 5’1” and never had a road bike before. I spotted "new" a bike at my LBS that looked to be her size, a 2004 Cannondale R1000 Triple Féminine 650. The specs looked good, Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels, mostly ultegra components with a tipple crank, Shimano ST-R600 shifters and breaks and it is 9 speed.

The original price was $2K and they have it marked down to $1,500. What kind of price would be fair for a new {unused} 2004 bike?

$1500 sounds like a good markdown for an end of year new bike but one that is several model years old and 9 speed sounds like $1000 - $1250 to me. Offer $1350 if they add pedals and a computer.

agree also. 2004 & 9. Look around a bit before dropping the bucks.

Thanks Tim,
That’s about what I was thinking but I didn’t want to be insulting with the offer.
