Reynolds AR80?

Anyone any experience with this wheel?
Choosing between this and the Parcours for an affordable 80mm race day tubeless wheelset.

The Reynolds look wide too, GP5000TL in 28mm would be the correct tyre choice?

No experience myself but TriRig.com has a review:

.

Once, I was fast. But I got over it.

Saw that review thanks, didn’t think it that informative!
Also couldn’t make the tyre size out in the images.

You would want the Reynolds AR80X wheelset.

The GP5000 tires in 25mm width would be the fastest with those wheels.

Why the X? It’s only a bit of weight

Thanks for the tyre recommendation. How did you know 25mm?

The X version has better hubs and bladed spokes.

My testing has shown that GP5000 tires in the 25mm width are the fastest. 23mm is fast too.

Thanks Jim.

I think the 80 (none X) also has blades spikes though?

Have you tried the 28mm?

I just had 28mm tubeless GP5000's put on an AR58/80 combo that came with my Speedmax. The AR58 is 19 inner / 28 external and AR80 19 inner / 29.5 external.

I would say the tyre sits flush on the 80 and very slightly bulging on the 58.

I understand that it might not be the most aero option, but the comfort! It's otherwordly.

Thanks Martin.

I have 28mm on my current wheels (stock Syncros on my Scott foil).

Really I’m looking for speed, as these will be race wheels, so think I may go for 25mm.

How do they do in crosswinds?

If the inner is 19mm on both, the tire should be equally flush because the width is likely identical at the brake track.

28mm and 29.5mm are measurements at the widest point

In that case actually I think I looked at it from the perspective of the widest point. Essentially meaning the tyres are actually wider on both ends.

To answer the question regarding crosswinds. At my current weight of 97kg (215 or so pounds) there are no crosswinds. ;)
Jokes aside, I think my 45mm Mavic Cosmics on my road bike are more prone to sudden direction changes caused by gusts, but I think it's more related to the weight difference the respective riding positions put on the front wheel.

I actually own a set but there are incredibly under used.

It's my race wheels so I've ridden 4 or 5x in races.

If there is any comparison valid Steelhead 2018 I've ridden a Zipp 404 (2:42:35) and Steelhead 2019 Reynolds AR80 (2:43:38) so about 1 min difference

I know it's a very unscientific approach ( it does not account for fitness, wind, weather, etc ) but it was enough for me to see there is not a lot of difference between both wheels
