I'll send you mine! My fuel cell doesn't fit with the mount on my nosecone shiv, so I just drilled holes on the down tube side and mounted it there. Never used the mount. Message me your address.

Looks awesome. From the note I got back from you, It sounds like it only works if all components are Tririg though so that's a bummer, as I have a Zipp stem aero bar in one set up that I like.

Where did you manage to get a Fuel Cell from? Similar to yourself, I’m buy a 2016 Shiv and really want a Fuel Cell for it but can’t find one available anywhere.

I've been searching and can't find anything so I'm hoping that someone in this thread will be able to help me. I purchased a Shiv a few months ago and was looking to angle my pads and bars, but it looks like that isn't an option with the stock Specialized bars that I have. I found some angled wedges from AeroCoach but they don't work with my bars. Has anyone found something that will work?

Actually, the Shiv in that thread does NOT have a Delta. It does have an Alpha X aerobar and Omega X brake though! That's the first-generation Shiv, also known as the "nosecone" Shiv, same as the one that Chris McCormack rode to victory at Ironman Hawaii in 2010: https://www.tririg.com/...p?id=1046_Macca_Shiv

The OP on that thread did a LOT of custom DIY work to allow our parts to work on that particular bike (they work without modifications on later versions of the Shiv), in order to keep that original nosecone. But as you can see on newer versions such as the Shiv Tri, our parts are a great fit (this one has Alpha One, Omega X, and the Delta front cover): https://www.facebook.com/.../?type=3&theater

It didn't look like a nosecone Shiv Nick - you can tell by the fork design and stem arrangement. I own both a 2011 nosecone shiv and the 2017 non nosecone shiv. It looks like they instead bastardised a nosecone shiv's nosecone to then fit a non nosecone shiv ?

Hello Everyone!

I've been looking at options of upgrading to a disc brake bike from my Shiv Pro 2016. I am doing a fair amount of hills with the bike and the braking performance is just not great on downhills. Sometimes it's even questionable if I can stop at the stop sign even though I start braking quite early.

Has anyone ever tried to replace the front fork of the Shiv to one which accepts a flat mount disc brake? As far as I found out there is only one option out there, that's the Ritchey WCS carbon road fork with a straight 1 1/8 neck. Also, I think it would fit the frame without any problems. It won't look as great as the original but it would surely brake better. Has anyone ever done this?

So I ride a Shiv Tri XL
I do have the TriRig breaks, love them by the way replaced the Maguras recently.
but I don't have a TriRig aerobar setup. I have a Zipp Sprint SL stem with the Zipp carbon base bar.
Would it fit on that, from what I read, it had to be a Tririg stem/aerobar setup to work?

For a plug-and-play solution, then yes you need a TriRig Alpha One aerobar up front. You might be able to work out a DIY solution to mate it with your Zipp bar, but we can’t help you with that.

I am trying to upgrade a 2016 Fuji Robuix road bike with aero bars, for a true tri bike. Budget right now is only about $2000

I see a few used 2017 Shiv Elites in my area that look to be both in very good condition and within budget. Any issues with this year, over other similarly priced bikes? Shivs don't seem to get much love on this forum. Any reason why?

I am about 6'1, and reading a few other posts in this thread, I potentially want to go a size down. Any thoughts on a medium? I'll go take a look in person, so trying to get an idea a head of time.

Thanks!

Edit:
Here were my fit numbers on the road bike with aero bars if this helps with sizing

X 470
HY 640
SX 205
SY 715
Stack 545
Reach 396

Disc up front and the god awful brake in the rear? You'll endo if you try to use all that braking power. Especially on downhills. Why have it if you can't use it?
