Tires for Aeolus 3 D3

Welp, I finally did it: rode right through my rear tire. I knew it was getting bad but just kept putting it off. Luckily, I was only 2 miles from the office and the bossman picked me up.

So now I need new ties. It had GP 4k in 25mm on it, and I've never had a problem whatsoever. But figured to go with the 5k's this time.

Here's what I don't know: do I stick to 25mm or size up to 28mm? And would 28's even fit: they're on a stock 2015 Madone 7.9, so stock Aeolus 3 D3 rims, as well. I ride some iffy backroads up here in NH/Maine/Vermont, and again the 4k's never let me down (about ~7k miles).

Please, learn me up: 25mm or 28mm GP 5k's?

Thanks!

A Continental GP4000 tire that is labeled 25mm, will probably measure 27mm wide on your rims.

A Continental GP5000 tire that is labeled 25mm, will probably measure 25.5mm on you rims.

A Continental GP5000 tire that is labeled 28mm, will probably measure 28.5mm on your rims.
