I did Steelhead a few years back when it was in August and the water temp was in the 70s. What is the water temp for that race now that they moved it to June???

It could range from 50 to 75 depending on weather and wind. I think it was low 70s last year, upper 60s is probably the best bet.

Yup and Lake Michigan can turn on a dime. I think it was 2017 when I was tossed all over during Saturday practice and wetsuit legal. Race day was much calmer and not wetsuit legal.
OK - thanks, I can totally see that depending on wind and currents. It's like that in August - one side of the Lake in MI is in the 70s and the other side in WI is in the 50s or vice versa.
