Just Wanted some input from anyone using a Garmin Fenix 5x for triathlons, particularly Iron distance races.
The watch seems to be one of the most affordable for the features included, though the size and weight is something I'm a little cautious about. Does the watch become a little cumbersome during a race, and could it possibly even create unwanted drag when swimming? Is there a substantial difference between the feel of it and the Forerunner 935/945?
The 5X isn't heavy or at all cumbersome, I don't remove it to pull off a wetty, as for drag created by a watch I'd concentrate on the million and one other things that create drag in the water before I worry about my watch!
Downside of the 5X is the altimeter (barometric sensor) is made from chocolate, expect it to fail and you won't be disappointed, the upside is Gamin's fantastic warranty and out of warranty service. (I guess they know it's an issue, I'm on my third 5X now and it's been replaced out of warranty, no quibbles)
