Any womens on HRT and specifically testosterone?
Mrs Duffy is on the Estrogen (patch), Progesterone (pill) and 2 weeks ago got a shot of testosterone.

The T shot had made her feel like she did on her 20s (she’s 47) as far as physical exercise/recovery goes and on top of that she’s horny as hell, like NEVER before (she’s getting it from me 1-2 times a day and masturbating 1-2 times daily as well).

Being that I’m 48 and on Zoloft this current state of affairs is a challenge.

Anyway, I’m considering going on the T myself.

Any of you ladies out there care to share experiences with this stuff (either you, SO or friends) would be much appreciated.

I am on estrogen and progesterone (both pill form). I was diagnosed with ovarial failure at age 37, with symptoms onset at age 36. My testosterone levels are on the very bottom end of normal range, for now anyways, so no treatment for that.

As far as libido goes, mine definitely experiences a massive spike with my progesterone periodization. And then boom, dry spell. At first it was a bit of a mindfuck, but now it's like, oh, this is what my body would be doing anyways, but just on steroids (well, hormones actually).

Athletic performance-wise, I am feeling much like my former self prior to onset of symptoms. I mean, the rest of me is still 38, but my endurance and stamina have built back up to Ironman levels.

I encourage her to talk to her doctor (does she have an endocrinologist? I see a reproductive endo and she is the bees knees) about this swing in stamina and energy. Chances are she may be riding the high now, but that may be setting her up for a crash down the road.

Thanks.

Yes she’s doing all this with an endo.

Good good. My endo has me messaging her if I even hiccup the wrong way, let alone something big like an oversized libido. Even short of that, it would be helpful if she could track her overall feelings and health in journal form, as detailed as a rating of her day 1-5 stars or in as hot racy explanation as she’d like.

Both too high and too low amounts of estrogen are a significant risk factor for breast cancer, so dialing this in should be a high priority for her health and well-being.

I am 46, and I am on whatever my ovaries produce. I am curious as to why your wife went to see an endo in the first place, and why they have her on all those hormones, especially the T?

She stopped menstruating and she was having a very difficult time with, well basically her entire system.

Yes. I can very much attest to this. My quality of life for seven months' worth of groping around for a diagnosis and treatment plan was awful and at times I was point blank suicidal. That is no way to live when your body decides to betray you.

But none of you are planning to race while taking testosterone or train on testosterone then go off it for a race. Is this correct?
Anyone can take it, but you can't use it while training and racing and you can't use it if you're training to race.

Correct. I was on HRT w/testosterone but once I was going to race, I would have had to request a TUE. My ob/gyn, after reading the TUE paperwork, said she could not sign in good conscious, so she changed the HRT I was taking w/o testosterone. I could tell the difference with the change.

I was on testosterone for about 6 months last year. It was not the magic pill I was hoping for.

From what I understand, womens libido seems to be tied more to estrogen than anything else. My progesterone and testosterone were in the tank but estrogens were good, yet my libido is still pretty bad for the most part. I currently take progesterone and estriol. In the past, I felt good while taking an estrogen combo but one of my estrogens shot up this year and I stopped it.

Anyway, I don't know if my dr prescribed too much or if it just didn't agree with me. My level shot up pretty high and my feet swelled quite a bit. I felt like a balding man with a beer belly (and I don't drink, nor am I a man). I just retested this morning and will see if maybe I can try a lower dose.

For those that say you can't race while taking it, if you take it only to get to the levels you should be at, why can't you compete? (I have not raced in many years, well before my hormones betrayed me, so am genuinely clueless)

<this is my first post, and I specifically signed up due to the overtraining posts I read awhile back. I am trying to figure out how to continue training while my body just wants to sit around and get fat. welcome to mid-life>

Thanks.

Long story short. Mrs. Duffy is still taking the T (shot once a month) and for the first couple weeks she’s nearly insatiable then it tapers off.

I had my levels checked and I’m on the high end of normal for men in their 20s (I’m almost 49) so no T for me.

I got some viagra.
