I'm going to wait for the mainstream media to report on who they think will be the winner. If CNN, MSNBC, and most of the rest say it will be so and so, then it must be believable, because they report unbiased facts.

Of course when people predict who they think will win, it really isn't facts as much as opinion. I think the media is guilty of predicting who they want to win but everyone has always done that so it's not really unique to the media.

Trump has repeated ad nauseum the line that the media does nothing but promote fake news and people are simply repeating it now without any thought to the story. It's just a lot easier when you can dismiss things you don't agree with as fake while fully embracing those you do agree with. I think that problem is a really sad reflection on not only politics but everyone who is gullible enough to buy into Trumps BS.

So what in your laundry list of things do you think would cause a 2016 Trump voter to not be a 2020 Trump voter?

A lot of people say that Trump is popular because the stock market is doing well but a big reason Trump won is because of voters in the heavy "working class" states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin believed he could bring back jobs. It's always about local jobs and the economy, not about the stock market because a lot of his supporters want a good job and don't have a lot of spare money to invest in stocks.

Those Republican voters don't care about things like foreign affairs, personal character of a President, his language, his lying or who he hires or fires, they care about their job and if they can earn enough to support their family. If the jobs are there, they will vote for Trump.

Alot of the TRUMP voters that I associate with in the area of PA that I live say they regret voting for him.

So Trump is currently the betting favorite. Why can't you just admit it.

Trump favorite.

Trump favorite.

Seriously, I understand your excellent explanations. Now I am just trying to prepare you for when Trump tweets: "I'm the Vegas favorite to be re-elected."

What has he done to not be the favorite of the GOP et al? Look what he's up against, commies, socialists and Depends users. 4 more years, 4 more years.

Booker, Harris, Klobucher, Hickenlooper, etc. ??? 1950's calling, check for reds under the bed ;). You really think that 18 months of Communist scare-mongering is the path to winning AND successful governance?

Why don't you ask the Democrats? They spent the last two years seeing Russians under everyone's beds.

And the Republicans spent the last 2 years seeing Mexican criminals coming across the border, Muslim terrorists coming into the country and saying Obama's healthcare plan was the death of the country so they had a great alternative.

If you think scare mongering is only a Democrat means of getting or staying in power, you haven't been paying attention.

So a bunch of 1%ers are Trump fans. Who would have ever thought.[/quote]
I would imagine that if its a bunch of 1% it will be higher than 70%. On the other hand I can tell you that some 'houses" in Palm Beach had a Gillum signs displayed during the governor race in FL. fwiw.

Do you think it matters with Trump's base? He has a ticket to say anything, make any claim and his supporter don't care because they view it as us vs. them and them is the liberal godless donkeys.

If the eventual Democrat nominee is from a swing state, that improves their chances. It doesn't require much to flip Michigan / Pennsylvania. Dems should also get Florida back in play because that really hurt them.

Is it really that hard to find a Dem that's not on the extreme left?

Clinton was definitely not on the far left but had far worse problems but it seems there is a mad dash to the extreme left and they all seem to be chasing that spot without even considering that maybe that's not the best place to be. It could be that they consider Biden more central so want to distinguish themselves from him but they do seem to be lining up in the wrong line.

This is just the primary. However survives wil edge rods the centre in the general. It’s cynical and crazy, but certainly better than outright lying 10000 or so times in two years.

As much as I hate to write it. Economy is holding up pretty strong, unemployment is hanging around a 50 year low, the knucklehead seems as teflon coated as Mr. Clinton, so far the Democratic Party is working on recycling blue(or no) hairs and there are a bunch upcoming young socialists dividing the party. I didn't give him a prayer the first time around and now it looks like he is not going to jail or being impeached, he could be a viable contender.
I am sure hoping someone in the middle steps up or it could actually be a long long 6 years. Contrary to what others have mentioned, none of the folks I know that actually voted for the guy have changed their position at all.
I am still scratching my head about this, but I can't root for the economy to tank or unemployment figures to jump in the next two years.

That's a shame, plenty of other able conservatives could do a better job. Guess it took a loud mouth to beat the "entitled" Clinton posse. Maybe a little deregulation may have been in order, but tax plan a joke....same bs trickle down. with 54% disapproval, hard to understand, but stacking young judges a plus for right. Wealth and judiciary will keep folks in line. Average joe doesn't have a prayer.

Anyway, good luck in Jax'ville and happy training.
