Technically, your statement is incorrect. Provider shift the cost of uncompensated care onto those who DO compensate for care (your insurance carrier). Because there is a correlation between having insurance and better health, those who do not actually consume more expensive services...which YOU end up paying for.
All the gnashing of teeth over Obamacare and how it made things worse is a bunch of political hackery. The system we had before was infinitely worse and more cruel. Even LESS sustainable than the half assed solution that is the ACA. Dipshits complaining about keeping doctors or increasing premiums don't understand what was possible pre-ACA (hint, for profit insurance had even more control over your shit).
