Canyon Speedmax CF vs. CF SLX
Hi Slowtwitchers,

I am looking at the getting a Canyon (going to sell my IA-10 because it looks like a Canyon will fit me better). From what I can see with my initial research is that the primary difference between the CF and CF SLX is weight and the built-in hydration system. Anything important that I am missing here? Weight is not an issue (the IA-10 is no lightweight) and I can always use my own front hydration. Also I have my own race and training wheels so I was thinking of either the CF 7.0 and then upgrade after market to di2. The other option is to right for the 8.0 di2 and then sell the wheels. So lets hear it!! :))))

Integrated brakes vs non integrated?

Personally, the cheaper one is such good value, and if my memory on the brakes is correct then easier to service as well.

I would be happy with a non-integrated brake, one thing I have hated about the IA is that bottom bracket aero brake. Its a pain in the you know where to keep clean!!! So non integrated works fine by me!!

I think the geometry is different with the CF being a little taller.

If you do a search you'll find one of Dan's reviews showing this.

This ^^ I was at the Canyon shop in Carlsbad a few weeks ago when the ST'ers were there and got fitted. I won't fit on an SLX, but I would fit on a CF. Ian Peace (regular ST'er) fitted me. I am a long-legged, short torso person. Make sure to get fitted first.

Another thing the CF SLX has is the storage compartment, which I really like. Also, the cockpit is so much cleaner and nicer, with almost no cables visible. And the brakes, although largely hidden, are easy to access and service if needed.

Fortunately I have all my coordinates so I will certainly ask that. I have already contacted Canyon and they said both the CF and CF SLX have 905mm in the seat post available.

Hmm I have no issue with mine. I only opened it up once (a few weeks ago) after 11,000 km and it was fine and didn't really need any cleaning - and it has been in the rain enough. Maybe my road conditions are cleaner though, not sure.
