Actually...the baggies "won" for the majority of off-road biking EXCEPT for the XC racers...hence, my initial comment.

BTW, even pre-94 (as far back as '86) I was wearing lycra shorts off-road (it only made sense, after all). Lycra cycling shorts and T-shirts (or road jersey's with cut off sleeves) were the common off-road attire back then...at least around here.
